Virginia Earp Ellis - Sept 20, 1905 --

     Graduated Goldsboro High School 1922- age 16, Honorable mention Senior Essay.

     In 1958 named as one of "The Most Useful Living Graduates of G.H.S."

     Church Work: Organist-pianist for Elm St. Meth. Church for several years - active in Epworth League - taught Sunday School Class - Transferred to St. Paul Meth. - Sunday School Class. Secretary - United Meth. Women: Treasurer and programs chairman for [circle]. "Sixty-Uppers" - pianist, secretary, publicity chairman, Vice-President, St. Paul representative to Goldsboro Church Women United.

     School Work: member of the Walnut Street PTA for 24 consecutive years, most of which served as grade mother in one to three classes.  Pianist on occasion, served on committees for Xmas parties, Halloween Carnival, Easter Egg hunt, and May Day activities.

     At graduation of youngest of 13 children from GHS was given seat of honor and a standing ovations. (a very proud moment)

     Worked as Hospital Auxiliary Volunteer at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

     Worked as volunteer for various fundraisings for about 35 years.

     Member Goldsboro Woman's Club for several years.  Was Scrapbook compiler, recording secretary, and publicity chairman.  Helped with Empty Stocking Party and Christmas Party for O'Berry Center.

     President of Boosterettes Club of Southland Life - Wayne County Young Adult Federation/Pianist and program (Now UMYAF)

     Wayne County Boys Club - Club Mother from time of organization by Al Paley [?] for several years.

     Contributed many articles to News-Argus and News & Observer - Guest columnist on number of occasions for Henry Belk, Georgie Tanner and Annette Sasser [?] (Loved doing this)

     Associated with Boy Scout work. (Have four Eagle grandsons)

     Active in Brownies and Girls Scouts for several years - 2 daughters received numerous badges and several bars for daughter Carolyn.

     In earlier years play Piano for Silent Movies. (a challenge matching music to script)

     Mildly active in politics.

     Has compiled scrapbook - family, local events and much other.

     Has made numerous tapes of musical numbers for personal pleasure and use.
