HOLY INSTITUTION

To the Editor:  Mr. John B. Palmer, from his bachelor's viewpoint, just doesn't see marriage at all.

I have been happily married for thirty-five years and still regard marriage as a holy institution.  My husband and I were mere children at the time of our marriage.

We now have eleven fine sons and two lovely daughters--ranging in age from fourteen to thirty-four.

To complete the circle there are twenty grandchildren--including three lovely two, three, and four year old girls, adorable one-year-old twins and a darling three-year-old redhead.

To be sure, things have not always been easy--but you have to accept the

bitter with the sweet.  With seven sons in service I learned to suppress my anxiety and emotions and look a head to the time our boys would be home.

I look forward to our children bringing our in-laws home--all of whom call me "Mother."

I agree with Mr. Palmer that marriage is "bondage"--but for me a happy one.  I may have been "baby-burdened," but there is no burden too heavy if you have faith and love and the ability to share and do a lot of wishful thinking.

Today I am very proud of my happy, healthy, successful children and can say

that truly God has blessed our marriage.
